Technically Motivated is seeking a Mobile Technology Journalist to help write new articles covering the latest news, apps and useful tips and tricks about Smartphones, tablets and other mobile computing.

With the rapid growth of mobile and tablet computing, Technically Motivated aims to expand its coverage of technology to cover all the latest happenings and provide useful reviews and tips in the world of mobile, to keep readers on the pulse and help them make informed choices as to how to make their mobile lives work best for them. As the Technology Blog “for those who don’t understand technology; and those who do”, we aim to communicate these articles in a manner that those with less experience of smartphones, tablets or other technology can understand just as well as long-term users.

While we have a small staff writing articles on different subjects on a regular basis, mobile technology is one area we are surprisingly lacking coverage in; and the sheer number of mobile platforms such as iOS, Android and Blackberry; as well as more recent entrants from Ubuntu, Mozilla and so on leave a huge amount of different platforms to cover – especially when you consider many of these platforms can be found on a wide range of devices that can often be vastly different to each other.

We are looking to take on passionate volunteers who can supply helpful articles – and keep abreast of latest news about any Mobile platform – to help contribute regular articles on http://www.technicallymotivated.com communicating these in easily-understood language. Ideally, we would like to take on several people who can each cover different systems or devices so that articles are varied and cover a wide range of mobile devices; so that all readers can find something interesting or useful to them on a regular basis; as well as to increase the frequency of articles being published. Good written English skills, the ability to fact-check and source information, and a way with words are essential talents for any applicant.

Applying for this volunteer role is a two-step process:

  1. Fill in the Online Application form hosted here on WPS Interactive;
  2. Then, submit an example article demonstrating your writing ability and the mobile platforms you have experience with, using the “Write for TM” link on the Technically Motivated website.

Please use the same name and email address on both parts of your application, for easy reference.

Technically Motivated is seeking a Technology Journalist to help write new articles covering the latest news in hardware, software, the internet and beyond.

As the Technology Blog “for those who don’t understand technology; and those who do”, Technically Motivated aims to be at the forefront of all the latest happenings in the world of Tech, to keep readers on the pulse; but also to communicate the news in a manner those with less technical experience can understand. While we have a small staff writing articles on different subjects on a regular basis, the sheer size of the modern technology sphere means we miss a huge number of potentially interesting topics every day; while many of our writers share other job roles within WPS Interactive, which often leads to the journalism not taking key priority. This leads us to too often rely on our readers to submit new articles for our consideration using the on-site tools; unfortunately these submissions often are not as forthcoming as we’d like.

We are looking to take on passionate volunteers who can keep abreast of the latest Technology news in various areas, to help contribute regular articles on http://www.technicallymotivated.com discussing interesting occurrences in various forms of technology. Ideally, we would like to take on several people who can each cover different facets of technology so that articles are varied and all readers can find something interesting or useful to them on a regular basis; as well as to increase the frequency of articles being published. Good written English skills, the ability to fact-check and source information, and a way with words are essential talents for any applicant.

Applying for this volunteer role is a two-step process:

  1. Fill in the Online Application form hosted here on WPS Interactive;
  2. Then, submit an example article demonstrating your writing ability and one of your particular interests in technology, using the “Write for TM” link on the Technically Motivated website.

Please use the same name and email address on both parts of your application, for easy reference.

WPS Interactive are looking for people with knowledge and an interest in designing and coding websites, to design new themes and layouts for some of our websites and content held within. Requirements for this role include a competent knowledge of web design and experience with PHP and/or HTML5; as well as experience coding with one or more of the following web plugins or a desire to learn: Flash, Java or JQuery.

The successful applicants will be tasked with designing and coding new themes for our core websites, to be more attractive to visitors and have clearer navigation – and to better integrate the technologies used within; as well as new layouts for existing planned new pages and content to better organise the information for maximum understanding and ease of use.

Additionally, you will be asked to engage in regular discussions with Lonesamurai, owner of Sanitarium.FM; Crimsonshade, Chief Tech Officer; and other technical stuff regarding plans to improve the design of our website or layouts for planned new pages and content. The successful applicants will be expected to not only discuss their visions for design, but also be able to produce visual examples of their plans either through labelled diagrams or actual HTML-rendered mock-ups.

You will be asked to work on multiple websites all under the banner of WPS Interactive, although certain ones may take priority over others. This will be a constantly evolving and changing role, with new priorities likely to occur on a regular basis; so we are looking to recruit multiple people; particularly those looking for experience who can provide a solid amount of time to the role. Interns and apprentices will be a regular part of this team; with the intention to create a full-time design team at a later date. This role would perfectly suit those wishing to gain experience or add to their CVs; but with the prospects of future full-time employment for active, competent workers.

Note: This role may also be posted on the individual WPS websites under a slightly altered name or description. Applying for this role through this website’s online application form will automatically submit the application to these as well; you do not need to repeatedly apply.
